On Oct. 1 in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, youth poets from Urban Word NYC put on a performance that combined their existing talents in writing and performing spoken word with new skills in multimedia image remixing. They created an artistic light display that featured their words, rhythmically timed and projected in light on a building facade behind them.

We were thrilled for Hive NYC to help connect these young writers with tech developers and projection artists, and also to help secure an opportunity for them to present the results of their learning at an exciting cultural event featuring other artists from around the world. In the process of understanding how to extend their performance into an innovative multimedia display, they were able to get creative in a new way that we hope puts them on a new path towards continuing to explore, create and share.
